The NanoBeams are designed to be mounted with direct line of sight which means no objects such as trees, fences or telephone poles can be in the path of the 2 points of the link.
By ensuring direct line of sight you will get the best quality link possible. The NanoBeams come from Ubiquiti with a brand new chipset allowing for increaded performance over the NanoStation and the narrow beam allows for tighter more stable links. In the UK the power we can use is limited and therefore we would recommend the NanoBeam for use with links under 2km with direct line of sight. If you need a longer link then why not check out our PowerBeam Link Kit, the Ubiquiti PowerBeam has a much larger dish and is capable of higher power outputs allowing for longer links with more throughput.
The NanoBeams are weather proof and designed to be mounted to the outside of a building. For external mounting we recommend the Ubiquiti Universal Arm Bracket which can be selected as an option for this kit. For mounting directly on walls we have the Ubiquiti Wall Mounting Kit for NanoBeam which is also available as an option above. For a small charge we can also set up the NanoStation link for you (option above) so all you have to do is plug and play (the link will be set to pass all traffic from your router meaning no extra configuration needed) or if you want to configure the link yourself then check out our HowTo for a helpful setup Guide.
Please note the NanoBeams do not come with Ethernet cables as standard, you will require 2 per NanoBeam One to plug from the POE injector to your router/switch and the other to go from the POE Injector to the NanoBeam. The Ubiquiti airMAX NanoBeam NBE-M5-19 is Ubiquiti's entry level dish based PtP device, with a more directional beam compared to the NanoStation which makes the NanoBeam idea for tight link in busy environments such as cities. The Tighter beam width also give the NanoBeam more range over the NanoStation allowing for longer and more stable links.
The NanoBeam is often deployed in WISP environment thanks to its low price and great range whilst retaining a high throughput. The provided pole mount and ball joint allows flexibility in the mounting as the NanoBeam can be positioned around the ball joint for that perfect signal. A Ubiquiti NanoBeam wall mount is also available as an optional extra.
Starting with the first-generation NanoBridge, Ubiquiti Networks, pioneered the all-in-one design for an airMAX product functioning as a CPE (Customer Premises Equipment). Now Ubiquiti Networks launches the latest generation of CPE, the NanoBeam.
Improved Noise Immunity
The NanoBeam directs RF energy in a tighter beamwidth. With the focus in one direction, the NanoBeam blocks or spatially filters out noise, so noise immunity is improved. This feature is especially important in an area crowded with other RF signals of the same or similar frequency.

All-in-One Design - The Ubiquiti Research and Development team combined the radio and antenna to create a more efficient and compact CPE. The NanoBeam gets maximum gain out of the smallest footprint.
Dish Reflector Design - Ubiquiti's InnerFeed technology integrates the radio into the feedhorn of an antenna, so there is no need for a cable. This improves performance because it eliminates cable losses.
Providing increased performance from its faster processor and innovative mechanical design at a low cost, the NanoBeam is extremely versatile and cost-effective to deploy.

Unlike standard Wi-Fi protocol, Ubiquiti's Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) airMAX protocol allows each client to send and receive data using pre-designated time slots scheduled by an intelligent AP controller.
This 'time slot' method eliminates hidden node collisions and maximises airtime efficiency. It provides significant performance improvements in latency, throughput and scalability compared to all other outdoor systems in its class.
